Who’s Jack’s Music Monday

Every week Who’s Jack will be bringing you all our pick of this weeks best music releases. Enjoy…

Los Campesinos, Romance Is Boring - The seven-some from Cardiff release their third album, Romance Is Boring today to much excitement from their die hard, almost cult status, fan base and new fans alike. The latest album from the band with the hardest name to pronounce ever, includes instrument heavy tracks with songs full of clever observations about love, life and the world around us. While some lyrics border on being somewhat comical others are touching and show just how much the band are capable of, especially with the introduction of two new members late last year. Los Campesinos, we salut you.

Yeasayer, Odd Blood - The band that make odd seem cool are here with their new album to prove that, despite what the critics say, they are not just another electro-psych-indie-pop collective. Odd Blood includes their popular single Ambling Alp and their latest track O.N.E. In terms of catchy tunes and eclectic sounds right now there aren’t many people doing it as well as Yeasayer.

Massive Attack, Heligoland - Fans of Massive Attack have been waiting seven long years for the release of Heligoland but the wait is finally over and they can kick back, relax and relish in the knowledge that the British music production duo are making no major changes to their sound. While some are critising Heligoland for not being much different to what we’ve come to expect from the band, others will breath a sigh of relief and we’re sure this album will earn them some new fans too.

The Maccabees featuring Roots Manuva, Empty Vessles - The boys from Brighton have teamed up with Roots Manuva to give their track No Kind Words a 2010 make over, and what a make over it is. A very different take from what we’ve come to expect from The Maccabees but we love it.
