Who's Jack's Music Monday
Last week saw Who’s Jack previous cover star Ellie Goulding (and producer Starsmith) take the number one spot with her album Lights. This week Who’s Jack takes a look at who’s in the running to take the top spot off Ellie’s hands this week…
Gorillaz, Plastic Beach - Those cartoon singers are back with their musch anticipated third album which features more guest cameos than a comedy sketch for Children In Need including Snoop Dogg, Kano and Lou Reed. Bruce Willis even appeared in the video for single Stylo. Despite what the title may suggest the album isn’t a bid for green awareness but more an advert for the imagination which sees the band singing about the ‘furthest point from any landmass on Earth’ aka a land of plastic mess beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean.
Amy MacDonald, A Curious Thing – Miss MacDonald gets a helping hand on this album from friend and fan Paul Weller giving her some much needed credibility at a time when female solo artists are taking over the charts. Expect songs about experiences of being a celebrity and looks at life and love on this Scotish singers second album.
New Young Pony Club, The Optimist – NYPC have taken a massive leave from their older sound with this new album. This time around they’ve gone much more ‘pop’ prehaps a bid to gain some more recognition/success. Expect catchy tunes, building medleys and sing-a-long chorouses that’ll be stuck in your head long after your first play of the album.
