Who's Jack Chats to Huw Stephens about his New Roll Hosting the Topman CTRL Channel 4 Sessions
What’s your connection with Topman CTRL?
I’m the presenter for Topman Control Mix, which starts on February 10th on Channel 4. It’s a music show with a special guest controller on every week choosing a band, I choose one and we’re cramming as much great music into every show.
Who will you most be looking forward to watching on the show?
I’m looking forward to seeing Miles Kane, who has a solo album out that is really good. Bright Eyes I’m a big fan of too, he can do no wrong. And it’ll be great to see The Vaccines up close too.
If you could pick anyone (alive) to play the show what would be your line up?
Hmm. I’d go for Outkast, The Cure and Jay Z. I’d stay in to watch that.
Are you currently preferring TV work to radio?
Both are exciting. Radio will always be my first love! I’m enjoying having an affair with tv though.
What do you buy from Topman?
A nice shirt.
Will you be wearing Topman to do the show?
Yes.
What is the one item all men should own this 2011 (in the fashion stakes)
A feather boa, Nicky Wire from Manic Street Preachers-style.
What is the one record everyone should own this 2011 (new music in the music stakes)
The James Blake album.
How can you sell the show to us in 7 words?
You’ll see and hear something really great.
Finally what or where is your favourite place or thing in London?
Berwick St in London’s Soho area, because there’s loads of record shops around there.
