Rushes Soho Shorts : Be a cover star (of the artist variety)
With only 6 weeks to go for the closing deadline for films, Rushes Soho Shorts have set a new challenge; to design a piece of artwork to be the face of the festival magazine.
To have a chance of getting your work on the cover for the festival magazine fill in the entry form that you can fine here and the best piece (judged by the rushes team) will be used! The competition is free and open to anyone over the age of 18.
The Soho Shorts festival was created 12 years ago from a need to showcase amazing work that was only ever seen by a few, to spotlight the talent and breadth of skill making and provide an opportunity to network and an outlet to watch and enjoy films with a wide audience. Since then, the shorts ‘scene’ has become more than the sum of its parts, it’s an inspirational ground for simple, often provocative and exciting ideas.
When submitting artwork for the potential cover remember that it needs to reflect the creative, inspirational, innovative, technical and eclectic nature of the festival and its film-makers. Simply? It should be inspired by original and stimulating ideas told through the medium of film making.
The judges will also be looking for selling capacity as the image will effectively be the face and recognised image of this year’s festival internationally. It will adorn the front cover of the magazine with 2 runners up taking up full pages within the magazine. A selection of the best work will be exhibited during and after the Rushes Soho Shorts Festival.
Closing date for artwork submissions is the 7th May 2010.
