New To Carnaby St: Sugarlesque
Sugarlesque, a lingerie boutique situated in Kingly Court, just off London’s fashionable Carnaby Street, is a haven for girls who like to add a touch of glamour to their lingerie. Have you ever sat on the bus, seen the bra strap of the girl in front you, and silently wept, knowing deep inside that what you can see is the exact same bra you’re wearing right now, which was £7.99 from H&M and is two sizes too big for you, but full of padding, so it doesn’t matter right?!
Well, fret no more. Ruka Johnson, the brains behind Sugarlesque, has created a selection of beautiful, sexy and original lingerie, all handcrafted and sumptuously desirable. Words such as decadent, delicious and divine spring to mind, and these don’t even cover the insane desire a woman has to buy THE WHOLE shop when she walks in. I mean, do we want to look like a sexy strawberry? Hell yeah! To add to the more riskee, cut-out numbers, Ruka has created some gorgeously girly, ruffled pink pieces and also, some casual polka dot numbers. One thing is certain, this girl knows how to make lingerie and she’s in a top spot to sell it.
Bespoke pieces are also available on request and what’s more, the shop is a boudoir haven-dreamland. Who’s Jack attended the launch of Sugarlesque’s new shop last week, and were greeted with a chance to check out its burlesque-girl-power décor, and amazing designs. With the walls covered in photography and art, all of which portrays absolute babes, the spiraled day bed and hanging lingerie and dresses just added to what already appears to be one of the best fake bedrooms ever to have existed.
So, get yourself down to Carnaby Street, upstairs in Kingly Court, and into Sugarlesque, for some affordable, yet absolutely original and stunning lingerie.
