LFW: Jacob Kimmie
Jacob Kimmie filled the Vauxhall Fashion Scout show space for a wonderfull ‘rhapsody’ as was explained on the press release, and boy did he deliver.
The baroque music and then subsequent styling helped create an atmosphere of austerity and royalty. The outfits were illusive with sheer fabric showing ‘boobs’ and ‘bum’ but keeping an air of demure elegance. The colours were mainly monochrome with a dash of pink floral and a lovely flying bird print, that worked brilliantly snaking up the garments from the hem. The bird symbol was echoed with the accessory of birdcages as the models flowed down the catwalk in chiffon capes and billowing sleeves.
Though it was elegant there was an edge to the show with a lone bride walking down the catwalk that felt eary and beautifull as she was only slightly hidden by the layers of sheer fabric. The show was delicate and edgy, a mix that seems to be strong for Kimmie.
