LFW: A La Disposition.
A la Disposition proposed a ‘mechanical failure’ of a show and they delivered, not in actual mechanical failure, but with broken outfits and rigid models. The outfits were deconstructed to almost beyond recognition with large ruffled sleeves and umbrella like jodhpurs that made you think of fantasy worlds created by Terry Pratchett. The hair, by Tim Furssedonn from Toni & Guy, used the trend of the moment plaits in a new way by looping the plait around the models necks. An easy way to incorporate plaits and chunky necklaces into your outfit.

The collection with it’s one sleeved, open backed shirts, ruffles and pleats galore, reminded us of broken bits of a mechanisms, like a clock, and A la Disposition were attempting to put it back together. The outfits were deconstructed and the re-constructed but in the wrong order. This made a delicious awkwardness to the show, something that doesn’t fit but works well in it’s own right.
