The Lounge, Odeon
The Lounge Odeon in Whiteleys is a new concept in cinema luxury and dining.
Set on the second floor of Whiteleys in Bayswater the screens are small, seating 50 or so at most and they are set behind what feels a little like a first class airport lounge.
Really you could just pop into the lounge to have a drink and a bite to eat without even seeing the film and you wouldn’t be disappointed.
Tickets are £18 a pop but for this you get seats that are much like an easy boy that recline at the push of a button or have an extended footrest at the push of another.
You also get waiter service all through the film for food and drink. Something that we thought would be distracting but the seats are so far apart and the staff so discrete it’s really not a problem.
Food is split into two categories either fork, finger or spoon depending on what you eat the chosen dish with. Our favourites were the friend squid and hotdog with popcorn and icecream soda although full meals such as risottos and burgers are also available.
A great cinema experience if you really want to make a night of it and we really would have given it a 5 out of 5 if we weren’t aware that some are going to find the option quite pricey what with £18 a ticket and then food coming in at around £9-16 a dish.
