The Cinema Museum

The Cinema Museum in Lambeth is a lovely aside from your usual London museum offerings.

Guided tours start at just £7 per adult and £5 for children and concessions. This is not your all time action, film prop filled block buster movie haven, this is a place for celebrating the actual cinema itself from film reels to popcorn.

The museum is in an old workhouse, The Master’s House, this was the administration block of the former Lambeth Workhouse, where the master in charge of the workhouse both lived and worked. The building has it’s own piece of cinematic star history though as the guides will tell you that it once housed Charlie Chaplin.

The museum is run by volunteers that are passionate about everything to do with the big screen and every artefact in the collection has a story attached and the passion for cinema hits you the moment you walk through the door.
