Situated in the heart of Covent Garden Clos Maggiore (we’re not 100% how you pronounce it either) is one hell of a find. Despite it’s central positioning this restaurant is a hub of calm and tranquility. At the back of the restaurant is an area that is covered in the winter and exposed in the summer which is covered in fairy lights and plants which trail from the walls and ceilings making it feel more like you’re sitting in a country garden than right next to an HMV in London.
Our favorites on the menu were Braised shoulder of Loire Valley rabbit with sweet and sour black radish, wholegrain mustard mousseline is one of their signature dishes so well worth a try as is Isle of Wight crab and marjoram tian, celeriac rémoulade, green apple and horseradish sauce which will make sure a great, light starter before your main offering.
The wine menu here is ridiculously extensive (we’re talking pages and pages) so if you fancy yourself as a bit of a wine buff it’ll be a great time to show off your skills and if you don’t know your Sauvignon Blanc from your Merlot then the house wines are really nice, and reasonably priced, too.
