DIY Waxed Denim

Waxed denim is a great trend at the moment, especially if you can’t bring yourself to wear leather. Waxed denim gives you a bit of texture and a small shine and if you do it yourself then it will hardly cost you anything either!

How to: DIY Waxed Denim

You will need:
Heavy Duty Fabric Wax – otherwise known as Otter Wax ($10 bucks!)
Hair dryer
Jeans

1. Lay your denim on a flat work surface. Starting from the bottom of your jeans, rub the wax in even strokes covering the entire surface.

2. Use your hairdryer to soften wax and smooth out with your fingers to create an even surface and create a waterproofing seal.

3. Hang your jeans in a cool-dry place for 24 hours to let the wax set.

Tenacious D To Release New Album

Advertising gurus M&C Saatchi were put in charge of coming up with an advertising campaign that alerted the world to the change and the above pictures is what they come up with and we have to say it’s absolutely F-ing brilliant.

Photography Tour: The Changing Face of London : Another tour of the City, but this time with camera in hand and a specialist in architectural photography to guide your focus.

Bon Iver Turned Down The Grammys

In a recent interview with Billboard, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon confirmed that Bon Iver was offered to play the Grammys so long as the band collaborated with another artist.

Justin Vernon said, ‘We wanted to play our music, but we were told that we couldn’t play. We had to do a collaboration with someone else. And we just felt like it was such a large stage. We’re getting nominated for this record that we made, me and Brian [Joseph] and a bunch of our fucking friends, and we were given accolades for it. And all of a sudden we were being asked to play music that had nothing to do with that. We kind of said ‘fuck you’ a little bit and they sort of acted like they wanted us to play, but I don’t think they wanted us to play.’

Vernon said that the proposed collaborators were ‘awesome people’ and ‘people that [he] would love to play a song with.’ But, he went onto say that ‘fuckin’ rock n’ roll should not be decided by people that have that job. Rock n’ roll should be the fucking people with guitars around their backs. And their friends. And their managers.’

London Speeded Up

Who saw the documentary on the London Underground last night then? Don’t get us wrong we quite enjoyed it but it didn’t tell us a whole lot we didn’t know which is why today we’re glad to have stumbled across this new documentary. Made by Garreth Carter it’s a speeded up, intimate look at the tube and those who travel on it. Give it a watch you wont regret it.

Patrick Mohr presented his AW/12 collection at Mercedes Benz Berlin Fashion Week and we were loving his inclusion of designer facial hair in the show as well as the clothes!

Beards, moustaches, all perfectly shaped and quaffed. It’s a sure fire sign that facial hair on those boys is here to stay.
