Coming Soon, Gregg’s Table
Opening on the 27th February in Bermondsey Square Hotel is Gregg’s Table from the one and only Gregg Wallace of Masterchef.
How exciting is this? It will make all those times you watched Masterchef and dribbled onto your TV remote worthwhile.
Gregg Wallace already has one restaurant in London being Wallace & Co in Putney but this new one will be larger with 90 seats taking over from Alfie’s that used to inhabit the spot in Bermondsey Square Hotel.
The menu will be interesting and initially doesn’t actually sound that appetising being based on Wallace’s food during his childhood which featured boiled beef and carrots. Luckily it also featured lobster thermidor, T-bone steak, spam fritters and Angel Delight…Mmmmm Angel Delight.
Wallace said of the new opening, ‘I love the SE1 area, it’s where I grew up, therefore it seemed a perfect choice for the launch of Gregg’s Table. In keeping with The Bermondsey Square Hotel we have designed Gregg’s Table around 1970s designs and kept the menu true to the old favourites.’
