Last night, Ria Ritchie performed as part of a bi-monthly event at Ronnie’s Bar, (Ronnie Scotts) called Ruby Sings.(Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.)

Ruby Sings is dedicated to showcasing the hottest, unsigned, UK talent and never fails to disappoint. (Last night also featured the incredible talents of Kyra, who we also recommend as One To Watch.)

To be asked to perform in Ronnie’s Bar, one of the oldest jazz clubs in the world,  is an incredible feat in itself; however, Ria’s performance withstood this pressure and impressed all who were in the crowd. Drawing people across the room and into her audience through the sheer captivating qualities of her voice, Ria had soon hypnotized her listeners – singing her heart out and playing her trademark acoustic guitar.

Highlights of her set included the fiery ‘Cats and Dogs‘ and her emotion-filled debut single, ‘Only One.’ During Cats and Dogs,a group of fans from her home town of Lowestoft even started singing along, creating the perfect atmosphere for acknowledging her undeniable musical talent. Ria also performed a stunning rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive’, prompting another sing-along.

Ria’s obvious flare for live performance was really apparent and we can’t wait to see more of her. A perfect festival sound we think!

Just a few days after the controversial American singer gave away a track for free he’s announced that he will be heading out on a UK tour this summer which will include a live date at London’s Union Chapel on 6th September.

Perfume Genius will no doubt be performing songs from his most recent album, the critically acclaimed Put Your Back N 2 It, as well as tracks from his 2010 album Learning.

As anyone who has ever been to one of his gigs will know they are an utterly mesmerising event that you wont want to miss out on. Often performing with just his piano Perfume Genius knows how to silence a room like no other act we’ve heard before

All of the artists nominated for the Barclaycard Mercury Prize will hold live music showcases during October at Camden’s Roundhouse venue where the awards will now be held.

The shows were announced at the same time that it was revealed that the annual awards ceremony was moving to a new home and would also get extra TV coverage on Channel 4.

The changes mark the 10 year anniversary of the awards which have become arguably the biggest date in the musical calendar helping in the past to propel the careers of the likes of Elbow and The xx.

The shortlist for the 2012 awards haven’t been announced yet but as soon as they are we’ll be letting you know.

It’s been a while since we heard much from Robyn because she’s been locked away in the studio working on the follow up to her 2010 album Body Talk but it seems like she’s finally ready to get back on the road and play to her fans again.

The show will take place at London’s 02 Brixton Academy on 1st November and will follow on from her slot on the upcoming Coldplay tour where she’ll be playing alongside Rita Ora as one of the Brit bands support act.

With a decidedly suggestive video the boys parade infront of a greenscreen with various piece of fruit.

The track is exactly what you would expect from Mr Jack Black who is looking decidedly older with a very short, un-rock hair cut.

Wether the two are a little too old now to be sticking their fingers suggestively into the middle of satsumas is questionable. But we guess if Madonna can do it then these two still have a fair bit of time left.

Organisers behind Glastonbury’s Dance Village Wow! Stage have been busy curating Love Saves The Day festival in to a festival suitable to hit Bristol, an area which is arguably one of the UK’s best creative hubs of music.

Dubbed by organisers as more than just a festival Love Saves The Day will take place over the Jubilee weekend in Bristol’s Castle Park.

Headliners at the one day festival include Roots Manuver, Joker and Bonobo while other acts include Annie Mac, Jessie Ware, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and other acts which span the House, Techno, Disco, Dubstep, Electro, Bass, Hip Hop genres.

So who is Rick Ross? Ross was the first artist to sign to P Diddy’s management company Ciroc Entertainment and has recently collaborated with Kanye West, Dr Dre and Usher. Just last night he wowed crowds as he performed at a party in Cannes with Tweets and Youtube videos uploaded from the night certainly proving that this guy is a real talent who knows how to get the room moving.

P Diddy was recently quoted saying that he and his colleague, friend and collaborator Hen Roc were tipping Ross as the next Biggie Smalls (better known as The Notorious B.I.G.). Both Hen Roc and P Diddy knew the East Coast rapper well so for them to say something like this is no mean feat.

This of course means that we’ll certainly see Bridget Jones in the crowd at Victoria Park as she waves a bottle of wine around and sings along to tracks that Khan is confirmed to perform - “I Feel For You”, ‘Through The Wire”, ‘I’m Every Woman’ and the 80’s number one ‘Ain’t Nobody’.

Lovebox on Sunday is turning into quite the 80s disco phenomenon which is ideal to celebrate the festivals 10th Birthday.

The first video we say from Woodkid, (Yoann Lemoine) was slightly more epic than this and had a fair few recognisable faces in it making it clear that the project is somewhat more about the visuals than the artist.

The track, like the last is great for a stand alone instrumental but we can’t help but feel his voice always ruins it.

Woodkid shows ample talent in the directorial field however as he directs his videos himself.

Diplo put this remix of Demons taken from Sleigh Bells current album, Reign Of Terror, up on his Sound Cloud for everyone. Both Diplo and Sleigh bells are pretty good mates seeing as they have toured with each other before.
