Chiddy Bang, By Your Side

Sampling a nice bit of Coco Rosie (genius) Chiddy Bang releases the video for track, By Your Side.

As Chiddy have said on their Twitter ‘This is [sic] song isn’t on the album but we did this video for the fans #teamswell bit.ly/xxrinY‘ but we love the video, simplicity at its best with just nice camera angles/lenses and fade tricks.

The new Chiddy Bang album Breakfast is currently available on pre-order, which will be released at the end of this month.

This video comes as a thank you to fans for their overwhelming support of the album’s lead single ‘Ray Charles’.

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again, Chiddy Bang, what nice boys.

Tom Jones & Jack White

Jack White’s been doing all sorts of late and now, most recently he teams up with Tom Jones to cover Howlin’ Wolf.

This team up comes as the next instalment from the Third Man Records Blue Series, a collection produced by White at his Third Man studio in Nashville.

The cover is of blues cut Evil (made popular by Howlin’ Wolf”) can be heard via BBC 6 Radio, and it features White himself.

You can find the single, out on March 5th on Third Man Records with the b side being a cover of the Frankie Lane track Jezebel.

Franz Ferdinand Remixes

Franz Ferdinand are about to release two 12 inch remix packages and you can listen to a preview of it below.

The remixes are of covers of the bands songs originally performed by LCD Soundsystem, Debbie Harry and Peaches as well as other artists for a cover EP which was put out for Record Store Day 2011. Give three of the tracks below.

New UK band Big Deal arrive with the video for their single, Talk that has the same sexy husky, couldn’t give a shit but it comes out good anyway XX kinda way.

What with The XX not bringing a whole lot out at the moment Big Deal will certainly will that cross shaped gap for the minute.

Big Deal, Kacey Underwood and Alice Costelloe have their album, Lights Out out now on Mute records.

Oh Land, Speak Out Now

Here is the new single from Oh Land, and is also the title tracks of a new TV series (not in the UK) called Rita.

This track will be included in the re-release of her self-titled second studio album.

It’s nice to here a new track from this x ballerina as since her first album a year ago we’ve not heard a lot.

Hopefully this is the start of a re-surface for the Danish Kate Bush-esque singer and if this is the sound of things to come we are excited to hear more.

Currently living in Brooklyn, Oh Land is apparently already back in the studio working on her next LP.

Plan B New Album And Film

Plan B has revealed plans for a twin project, a new album and a new film both going by the name, iLL Manors.

While the album is apparently not a soundtrack for the film some of its tracks do feature in it however Mr B insists that’s where the relationship ends. iLL Manors the album is due for release on 4th May and speaking about it the singer said, ‘you could call iLL Manors bass-line, soul, hip-hop. The album has the lyrical depth of my first record but the musical composition is light years ahead as it’s informed by everything I’ve learnt in the last five years – writing, producing and playing with a live band. I feel I’m better than I’ve ever been.’

Secret Garden Party Line Up

The first acts have been announced for this years Secret Garden Party and among them are Little Roy, KT Tunstall and Orbital.

The festival is taking place at Mill Hill Field in Abbots Ripton between 19th – 22nd July and will also have sets from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Jim Jones Revue and Baxter Dury. It will be a big year for the festival as it’s celebrating it’s 10th birthday this year and so the theme will be Standing on Ceremony so make sure you grab your best party hat before heading down.

Marina’s Back

She tweeted this one the other day looking very old school glamour. A very different look from her last single’s video, Radioactive. Marina has gone all Twiggy Hepburn on us.

Gorillaz, Andre 3000 & James Murphy

Wow, here’s one collaboration we didn’t see coming. According to reports today Gorillaz have teamed up with Andre 3000 and LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy to record a new track.

The song will be called Do Ya Thing and is due for release on 23rd February as part of a team up with Converse. The announcement was made over on the animated bands Facebook page with an ever quirky message that read:

‘Murdoc: Oh is that?….YES! It is..It’s… Andre ‘Outkast’ 3000 and James Murphy. Mr. LCD Soundsystem. Alongside Gorillaz! Wow! What a line-up!

Oh Congratulations you two. What a surprise! But a really great win. You must be thrilled! It’s just fantastic to have you both on board!
