Back To The Future The Musical?

As anyone who’s ever watched a single film in their life will know Back To The Future is one of the best film franchises of all time and it seems we’re not alone in believing that the story never goes out of fashion because according to reports it could be about to hit Broadway.

According to Deadline the films writer Robert Zemeckis is locked in talks with co-writer Bob Gal and the man who was responsible for the films sound track Alan Silvestri in order to turn the classic tale into a theatre worthy musical. At the moment we’re undecided about if this is a good idea, look at what happened when Spider-Man was put on the stage (clue, it wasn’t great) but if done well it could be worth a watch?

Neeson And Crowe For Noah?

Rumour has it that Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky is eyeing up Liam Neeson and Russell Crowe for his new biblical project, Noah.

Which actor will take on the leading role has changed a bit since the film was announced, first it was reported that Christian Bale would be taking on the role however other film commitments meant he had to pull out then he was swiftly replaced with Michael Fassbender however he too had to pull out leaving a vacant Noah shaped hole. Filling that hole now will apparently be Russell Crowe according to reports today and there are also rumours that Liam Neeson will be taking on the villain role.

There’s still a while to go until the films release which is due to be put out in Autumn 2013 so things could still change but we reckon they’d both be excellent choices for what could very possibly be a brilliant film.

The Hunger Games (New)

What better way to end the day than with a brand new trailer for The Hunger Games?

As if you don’t know by now, The Hunger Games is based on the first in the hugely successful trilogy of books by Suzanne Collins. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Lenny Kravitz and Wes Bentley the film is set way in the future where an evil Capitol holds an annual game in which 12 boys and 12 girls must fight it out until the end, but only one of them is allowed to live.

The Hunger Games is released on 23rd March.

Martha Marcy May Marlene Featurette

Our pals over at HeyuGuys have just popped up a great new ‘making of’ featurette for new film, Martha Marcy May Marlene ahead of its release in cinemas tomorrow.

As the official IMDb synopsis says this film is about a young girl who is ‘haunted by painful memories and increasing paranoia, a damaged woman struggles to re-assimilate with her family after fleeing an abusive cult’ and stars Elizabeth Olsen, Sarah Paulson, Hugh Dancy and John Hawkes.

Emma Watson For Your Voice

Emma Watson is set to reunite with Harry Potter director David Yates for a new film called Your Voice In My Head that has been based on the memoirs of journalist Emma Forrest.

For the film Watson will be playing the role of a young woman who attempts to commit suicide who is saved by a psychiatrist who is suffering from terminal cancer. Sounds like a right cheer fest doesn’t it?

Kanye West Makes Short Film

Kanye West has had his fingers in film pies for a little while now, remember that ultra-conceptual short film called Runaway that he released in 2010 in the lead up to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy? Well there is another one on the way it would seem.

The New York Observer has reported that Kanye is planning a similar short, this time to be shot somewhere in the Middle East:

‘Sources tell The Observer that Mr. West sent members of his team to meet with film companies and government officials based out of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Doha, Qatar to explore the idea of a production. A number of local municipal officials and film companies are said to be engaged in what was characterized as a heated bidding war for the contracts involved in bringing Mr. West’s vision to life.’

The Observer reported that ‘Mr. West’s creative team is moving to the region for a few weeks, as part of an effort to create an ‘authentic’ depiction of the culture.’ The film will feature actors from the region.

The Hunger Games New Picture

As it’s March release date creeps ever nearer a new picture has been released from the hugely anticipated film The Hunger Games.

The picture shows Jennifer Lawrence’s character Katniss in a hug with Lenny Kravitz’s character Cinna in the build up to the final game in which she must compete to save her life. Set way in the future in the ruins of what was once North America The Hunger Games tells the story of an evil Capitol who every year picks a boy and a girl under the age of 18 from each of the areas 12 districts to compete in a game where only one of them can be left alive.

The Hunger Games is released on 23 March.

Daisy Lowe, Alfie Allen Act

Daisy Lowe and Alfie Allen are to take on acting roles in a new London thriller film, Confine.

Written and will be written and directed by Tobias Tobbell in the film Daisy will take the lead role playing a former model who has become agoraphobic and is held hostage by a sociopath who embroils her boyfriend into the plan. Also in the cast is Eliza Bennett.

Shooting begins early this month (February).

The film has secured a number of product placement deals, including with Rymans, Apple and Asahi Beer.

New Prometheus Picture

A new image for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has been released and it features an eyebrow raising giant head and a person standing infront of it screaming.

The nature of the way this film’s been handled means we’ve only seen the bare minimum in the lead up to its release on 1st June so this picture acts as just another piece of the puzzle that we’re so desperately trying to put together.

Prometheus, a prequel to Alien, stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Repace, Charlize Theron and Guy Pearce and follows a group of intergalactic explorers who believe they’ve discovered the secret to how human life came to be on earth but while exploring the theory further have to fight a battle that could see the end to earth as we know it.
