Brick Lane To Lose Its Bricks
Brick Lane is to lose one of its defining features and the very thing it’s named after in a bid to smarten up the East London area.
According to reports today Tower Hamlets Council are going to be resurfacing the area ridding it of it’s bricks and cobbled floors so that it is easier to maintain and presents a smarter appearance to visitors in the area. The work is said to be due to cost £300,000 with TfL forking out most of the cash to get it wrong.
Call us sentimental but it seems like a bit of a shame to us.
