BFC Rock Vault
The British Fashion Council will begin a brand new jewellery initiative, BFC Rock Vault, which will support, showcase and promote Britain’s most innovative, fine jewellery talent. It will launch this London Fashion week (Feb 2012).
The International Palladium Board are going to sponsor things and the showcase will be curated by Stephen Webster.
Ten jewellers will showcase their AW/12 collections in BFC Rock Vault, on the Terrace of Somerset House. The ten designers are: Alexandra Jefford, Fernando Jorge, Hannah Martin, Hillier, Husam El Odeh, Jo Hayes Ward, Jordan Askill, Melanie Georgacopoulos, Sophie Bille Brahe and Tomasz Donocik. Their will also be five concepts created in Palladium by Central Saint Martins students on show here are well.
The initiative will put forward support for each designer so they are able to create a unique installation each in the dedicated area. The designers will also receive business mentoring.
The initiative should succeed in giving these London based designers the opportunity to develop their businesses and get great exposure through the UK, International media and retailers.
