Autoheart mix dark inspiring piano licks with rich heartfelt vocals culminating in a decidedly simple but alluring pop sound. Their latest single Control was produced by Danton Supple who leant his hand to Coldplay’s X & Y and has the mellow hooks of Guillemots with a counting Crowes-esque ballad-anthem ending.
Autoheart, formerly known as The Gadsdens are Jody (vocals), Simon (piano/ keyboards), Barney (guitar), David (drums) and Jihea (Bass). Jody and Simon formed the band in 2007 after a chance meeting in East London and have developed a sound so perfectly pop mainstream, chances are you’ll be seeing them around in 2012.
Their previous single Sailor Boy was Record of the Week on Shaun Keaveny’s 6 Music show, proving the band have some of the indie edge that Coldplay used to. Their debut album, produced by Danton Supple, is due for release in 2012.
